[QUOTE="turkeyrun, post: 4259904, member: 27991"] Good on you. I picked up a rifle, from a good guy on the forum. Took it to range Friday. Outstanding, fun, disappointing day. Had youngest grandson to put to task of expending as much of my .22 stash as fast as possible. He did not disappoint. First shot from newly acquired .30-06 was on target. Jammed on second round. 1st round did not eject. I failed to take cleaning rod with us, done for the day. 3 rounds through .30-30. 2 rounds on target, nowhere near each other. Set screw on sight loose. The Allen wrench I needed, missing from set, laying on reload bench. Done with rifles, move to pistol range. 5 calibers, 5 new reloads. All outstanding. Very happy. Good day. Hot, humidity, NO wind. Get home, cleaning rod to knock case from rifle chamber. Brass covered with scratches and rust. Extractor pulled off section of rim. A good cleaning and feeds / ejection both good. Ready for another range trip. No school Friday, grandson ready to go. No rain and try it again. Before I totally hijack thread, before the boating accident, a list was made assigning who would receive each, IF I expire before giving their heirloom. Some will not go before, but most will.
