I did some shooting at my parents farm this weekend. My dad recently got The Judge in 3" chamber, stainless. In case you haven't seen it, it is a revolver that shoots either .45 long colt or 410 shotgun shells.
I shot some 410 #6 3" shells. They really spread out fast. This might be good for snakes, but The Judge is probably not best suited for CCW, at least with 410 shells. The thing is huge too.
Fit and finish was good. Sights are really easy to see as they are fiber optic.
It had some trouble cycling more than about 2 or 3 410 shells and tended to hang up. My dad doesn't really mind though since he got it primarily for carrying around with checking his cattle. He said he loads 2 410 shells first, and the rest .45 and it cycles without problems. We have a lot of copperheads at my parents farm in Missouri.
I had a little trouble with grouping the .45s. Could have just been me though. The recoil was not bad, even with the 410 3" shells. It has a really nice grip.
All in all, I'd say its a neat gun to have. It's best suited for shooting at snakes and small critters, which is exactly what my dad needs it for. As far as a CCW gun, it's a real hand cannon and would probably annoy me if I tried to carry it for very long. I was thinking about getting one, but since I live in Owasso now, I just really wouldn't have much use for it since all I do is punch holes in paper. It would be handy to have on the trail though. Hope this helps anyone that is thinking about getting one. I doubt you would be let down so long as you realize that it is what it is.
