Anyone seen these or have any experience with them?

After seeing my old 642 (that I sold to my dad a while back) with my old nice wood grips on it, I started looking at getting a set for my current 642. I stumbled upon these when searching and I'm wondering whether or not the non-checkered grips have a good G10 texture to them, or if they've been smoothed over enough that the checkering would be worth it.

The Big State boys usually come to the Wannenmacher and always have a ton of VZs. He let me feel these on a 642 and it was awesome. Probably would've kept my snubbies had these been around when I had one. I'm biased though, I have VZs on all my 1911s and my BHP.
