You can find out about the range here

http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/okmulgee.htm

Keep in mind you have to have a hunting license.

Also keep in mind there are no true facilities, range rules, or range officers. Personally I won't ever shoot at one again. I've run into drunks and teenagers out on the range, who failed to observe even the most basics of safe shooting practices.

ANY TARGERT HOLDERS?

if so at what ranges?

benches?

any info woulod be appreciated...

new guy carter

No holders unless you bring them or someone else left them. It has covered shooting tables, no chairs or anything though. Take a truck/suv if you can, the road into it can be bad/rough. I got into it with my car last time I went, but I had to go slow and had some undercarriage contact while going in and out.

Link on google maps

Also, please clean up after yourselfs, or do like we did and leave the range cleaner than we found it.

hi guys! i live right down the road from the wma shooting range and you have to have a hunting license to shoot there, i almost got ticketed last year by the game ranger. so, i set up a range here at my house, ive got 120 acres so its not a problem and may start opening to the public. i am starting to put on conceal carry classes here as well, the first one was last weekend and another this saturday. its a very nice area, secluded in a country setting and safe. what do you guys think of how the turnouts would be out here if i did open to the public? a small range fee+ i might be able to sell reloaded ammo for a reasonable price. all of this pending on contacting my property insurance guy here in okmulgee. btw, i also make custom handmade gunleather as well, aka: ugly brother customs.... thanks, arvid aadahl

If I'm not shooting out at a friend's place, I'm out at the Okmulgee WMA range.

Its got a pistol area (that's now covered) with what used to be three stand-up benches, but now its just one mostly corroded bench and one good one.

When it rains, the pistol range (and parts of the rifle range) get muddy - not as bad as Wagoner (its a mud-pit lately), but its still something I consider before I go out there during or after a rainy day.

I want to say the pistol range is around 100yds deep and has a tiny berm - IMPORTANT NOTE - there is no berm between the pistol/rifle range, so if you're down-range at the rifle range and someone is shooting at the pistol part, you are at risk if they're not aiming at their berm (there's sort of a hill and some trees in between, but its not ideal).

The rifle range is 230 yds and is mostly up-hill (enough that it makes 1/4-1/2 minute difference in your shooting over flat-ground at the same 230yds if your target is in the middle of the berm).

I don't much care for the rifle range, but its got a cover (that some idiots have shot through in a few places) with, 5 benches and a place on the far right side that you can sit in the prone (if they've mowed the weeds :D ).

You can basically do whatever you want there (within the realm of safe shooting). We routinely do moving/shooting drills with carbines and handguns over on the handgun range (you have to shoot in the direction of the berm the entire time).

I just realized that I haven't been out to shoot in like 3 weeks or so. Crap, I may need to head out that way soon.
