Get off my lawn.
This scares me. I don't carry enough. I really want to start doing "concealed is concealed" more often.

I'm just afraid that being honest and hard working will make me a prime target to make an example of. Gotta get the good guys behind bars ASAP.

That woman with the purse had guts. Glad she didn't get killed. Had she been packing heat the potential exists that this would have ended much quicker.

As a school district employee this is just one more reason I believe our CCW law is flawed.

Man, she did have guts, too bad no one else had any....

Or a weapon to defend themselves with.

So if they don't have a weapon they just sit there and watch a 120lb woman smack a 350lb guy and do nothing?

A weapon isn't going to protect a bunch of sheeple, the only person in that room that should have had a weapon was the woman with the purse, she had the guts to use it.

Having a weapon doesn't mean anything, having the right to carry it doesn't either, if you aren't going to use it.

Why didnt the retired officer WITH the gun act quicker???

You all are missing the fact that someone else DID have a gun. If that ex cop had acted as bravely as the school teacher this could have been avoided.

Thankfully, no one was injured/killed; except the waste of space gunman.

Hey I was just saying.........don't take offense man.
I wasn't disagreeing with you.
I agree the woman showed some bravery.

Sorry, no offense taken, and I hope likewise. I just get tired of it always being an issue that CCW is off limits and that we will have these situations until the CCW laws are fixed. It's much bigger than the right to carry, it's a whole mindset that needs to change. One person in that room had the stones to attack an armed gunman, 3x her size, with a purse,,,a freakin' purse,,,,and no one did a thing while his back was turned, nothing....

I agree with Dustin as well, concealed is concealed, not saying I willingly break any CCW laws, but I do make decisions to protect myself and my family first and foremost.....

Two things REALLY bugged me:
1. Police/security response time. The newscast made it look like the guy talked a LOT after letting the first folks go. Maybe it just looked that way, but are response times always so abysmal?
2. When the gal whacked the gunman with her purse, he turned and gave her his full attention. Why the hell didn't the guy seated next to him - now behind him - do anything?

And HUGE kudos to the purse-wielder. Talk about guts. I'm so glad he didn't shoot her while she was on the floor. Whew.
