This was my old Swede. It was completely matching except for the cleaning rod. This is the only picture I could find of it. If you will notice, it has the threaded barrel and has a muzzle break on it. I replaced that with a thread protector.

Wish I still had it. I wonder how many times I've said that.

Dutchman has a boatload of Swede info on his site. He's also one of the mods in the Swede section of gunboards. The disk he shows with a 3 for the bore condition is very rare. Not rare as in valuable, but not commonly seen. Normally the barrel would be replaced before it was given a 3 marking.

Looks good, Ronny. Though they weren't original to the M96, the threaded barrel can be fun. Ever thread on one of the blank firing adapters and run the wood practice ammo?

The threaded barrels came with a later arsenal rebarrelling. Sometimes guys get lucky and find a 96 with the original barrel in decent shape but they're not common. The Swedes were crazy about rebarrelling rifles but that's why there are so many that are in such great shape bore-wise.

That's cool. It's crazy to think that a gun would be massed produced in such quality that a "worn" sub-par example would be an oddity.

If I read your link correctly, it appears your barrel gauges out at 6.51mm bore with a 'zero' rust grade. Does that sound right?

Yep, that's the way I read it. Essentially it has a new barrel or "0" bore. It's also sighted in dead-nutz at 100m with no holdover. I'll dig my 1899 here in a few and see what the disk says.
