Liberty Tree has a bunch of Swede stuff (along with other milsurps) and some of their stuff is hard to find elsewhere but other common items are overpriced. The price on their website may be less. I don't care enough about a matching cleaning rod to pay that price.

You can find cleaning rods for less. In fact, I think they are cheaper on their website. They have enough of them, though, so that a person might find a matching one if they really wanted it badly, and if you could talk them into searching.

If I recall, the cleaning rods all carry only 3 digits. So any rifle with, say, 312 as it's last 3 digits could be matched once in a thousand possible cleaning rods. Not really good odds, but it can happen. Actually, there were some factory rods which weren't numbered at all.

There's a fair amount of non-numbered replacement parts for the Swedes. Husqvarna made most of it. Most of the non-numbered stuff will have a tilted crown stamped on it. Not sure about the cleaning rods though.

In the sense that most '96 cleaning rods were numbered, then, Yes, an un-numbered factory rod would be rarer, but not to the extent it would be worth more. I 'think" it would just be a replacement rod that came out of spare parts. There are also 'aftermarket" rods out there, but their quality is obviously less than Swedish stuff. The Swedes usually had the Swedish Crown on the very end of the rod. I think. Darn it, my memory ain't what it used to be.
