Great video! Done that a couple of times myself with the same results, lol. How did you guys know he was there? Looks like you had zero wind too, tough. I've said this a few times before on this forum, and i'm sure you know this too, good bucks like the tall grass. Thanks for sharing!

Now that I added another person to my ignore list, I'll tell the story.

We were feeding cows and just barely spotted him as he put his head back down. We went ahead and fed cows for another hour and came back to get him. I was standing on the back of the pickup as my brother snuck up there. The deer had moved about 15 yards farther away so we honestly thought he had left when he wasn't where we saw him the first time. After he made the shot, we really thought he got him. In the video as he's running over the hill he kept tripping and kind of stumbling. We just knew he would go down. We went to town and ate lunch, giving it a good hour. When we came back we looked and looked finding no blood. We found where he shot at him and finally found the arrow. No blood or hair on the arrow. A clean miss. We knew then there was no hope of finding him.

Or was there?..........

Stay tuned for The Rest of The Story..

I went through the shot frame by frame, and couldn't pick out the arrow in flight, but with it running, I would have sworn it hit behind the left shoulder, quartering away. The buck showed enough signs of being hit, and kind of stumbling before he went around the big cedar. I was suprised to see him come out the other side.

Watch the video on full screen and 1080 HD. At the end of the video when I slow it down, if you watch his antlers you'll see the arrow streak by just as he turns and jumps. I'm not sure if it went in front or over the top. When we went back to find him after lunch we found his trail running over the hill and it looked like he was just slipping on muddy ground where there wasn't any grass. lol. It sure got us excited.. I'll share the rest of the story in a little while.
