Both the Gen 3 and Gen 4 are good choices. The grip options for the Gen 4 may suit some better; I'm great with a Gen 3 due to my hand size. The smallest Gen 4 will handle smaller hands than a Gen 3. The dual recoil spring issues have largely been "upgraded" away by Glock. Part for a Gen 3 are still more readily available. You can use a Gen 4 mag in a Gen 3, but not the reverse.

3s are proven units......... it really comes down to the Grip changing abilities and if your head likes it or not. Granted, not a big fan of the recoil guide rod design on the 4, but you can change out the double spring/rod for a gen 3 type. And you'd have to assume that G did their homework on the strength of the ends.

The G19 Gen4 was 'less' of a grip change for the better to me.

I have a gen3 G20 and I am wanting to get a G29 gen4. No problems with the gen three and the gen4's should have most of the problems fixed by now. Don't know for sure but as soon as I get the funds I am shopping for the gen4 G29 problems or not.

Gen 4's are fine. Never had an issue with any of mine.

Same here. I just wish OCD would allow me to make an impulse buy on occasion. I'll probably end up searching for months on end for the "perfect" deal on one.
