Wait till you take it to the range. I got mine a year ago. I had never shot one, but I figured every red blooded American man should have one. Every time I take it to the range, every one stops and watches. I will count the rounds and stop at #7, and you can see everybody is waiting just so they can hear that !PING!. I like to keep them waiting.

Disassembled it last night. Every part that I could identify was HRA except for the trigger assembly. All of those parts were Springfield. Got as much cosmoline out of the stock as I could and put a coat of Tru Oil on it. Looks great. Will be hitting the range Saturday. Meant to take some pictures but it was 1:30 when I got it back together last night. I'll try to get some tonight.

Barrel is HRA. I believe the stock is but I'm not certain how to tell for sure. It's walnut and has the DOD acceptance stamp (not sure if it's 1/2 or 3/8) and the circle P.

Is the P sans serif or serifed? If the former and there's a DOD cartouche, it's HRA (or perhaps IHC!). If the latter, it's SA. You measure the size of the cartouche by including the border.

If it's sans serif, look in the barrel channel of the stock for an alphanumeric code stamped in there. If there's one, *ding ding ding* you have a valuable IHC stock.

You can also look at the size of the "back porch" (the shelf of the stock on the rear of the receiver area, behind the heel) - HRA back porches typically are significantly larger than SA and IHC back porches. You might need to compare them side by side to see the difference, though.

It's sans serif. I'll have to check again tonight but I don't remember seeing a code in the barrel channel. I'll measure the cartouche as well. Thanks for the info!
