The “they'd probably send in the UN” argument is silly at best.
Who, exactly, would the UN send, and how would the UN pull its stuff together long enough to come to anything close to the consensus required to marshal any forces of any consequence? The UN isn't even a paper tiger; it's about as useful as teats on a boar--it, like NATO, would be lost without the US military making things work. Hell, their "peacekeepers" can't even keep unorganized rabble from stealing supplies, so how would they be able to deal with a situation where better-prepared and better-armed combatants would be shooting at them from both sides?

Often in history when governments have attacked their own citizens they bring in foreign troops to do the job. Mercenaries have no common sympathies with the people. I think that the most likely threat will be from a UN type "peacekeeping" force and not our own Military.

GERMAN Army forces are training at Ft.Sill NOW!

German Air Defense Forces and some small number of individuals in various other courses (Captain's Career Course, etc.) are training at Ft Sill - so what? The Germans aren't training large scale maneuver forces (which they basically don't have anymore because their military is diminutive and under-funded by US standards) - they are training relatively small numbers of specialized troops and the bulk of that is directly tied to Foreign Military Sales, i.e. if they buy equipment from the US they can also purchase training from us on that equipment.

I remember being in Croatia in 1996 and seeing a CNN-International report about the German troops being trained at Holloman AFB (I was on temporary duty to Croatia but was a flight commander/senior trainer in the unit training Germans at Holloman AFB) and it was portrayed as if the Luftwaffe and Goering were being resurrected. In fact, we were training brand new lieutenants in basic flying skills in the F-4 Phantom. However, something called the "New Mexico Militia" heard about it and, without understanding, jumped to wild conclusions about what we were doing there and their rantings were picked up by CNN - this sounds like a similar situation.

There is hardly a single large training base in the United States that does not have foreign allied soldiers being trained. This has been the case for much longer than i remember. It is not some grand conspiracy, just an efficient way to train those troops on weapon systems, tactics, etc which share commonality among nations.
