Picked up my Mosin this evening. From the link AKguy posted it appears to be a 1933 Izhevsk Hex receiver. Everything is number matching from what I see. No line outs or re-stamps. Stock seems good. No real defects. It does however have a giant billboard of an import mark on the left side flat of the hex receiver. PW Arms Redmond WA. I took some crappy pics with my Iphone but will try to get some better ones tomorrow.

Yep thats a 33 izhvesk hex in a postwar stock. The sling slots give that away.
So its nothing special then but I am guessing its still a good deal at $80? Like I said I know very little about these, only what I have read online but it seems Hex receivers are what everyone wants and all the numbers match. Does the post war stock make any difference? I havent stripped it down yet but the only bad I see is the worn bluing on top of the receiver .
I have been cleaning her up tonight and the finish is really thin on the forearm of the stock. Some places it feels like its almost bare wood. Since it has been restocked Ill probably end up stripping it and putting an oil finish on it this spring. If it was the original stock I would probably leave it alone but I don't see it hurting anything to refinish it. I have a crate of ammo on the way from SGAmmo, looking forward to getting her out to the range and seeing how she does. Now to track down a sling on line for her.
shooting $80 rifles centerfire rifles is just fun. You feel like it is the good ole days and you got a deal. Both of us are old enough to remember cheap surplus rifles and ammo, nice to still be able to get something like this. Now folks ask retail plus for used guns and some bonehead pays it. Glad you cashed in on this one. I have an old chinese mosin that I got years ago came in a bag of parts that I cleaned up, but then they were everywhere and cheap. I paid $35 for mine. Mine is ugly but bore and barrel are pristine on the inside. I am telling you all, the x54r ammo is not going to be cheap forever, buy it everytime you can so you don't regret it when it dries up or doubles and triples in coming years. And I am well aware the is only a couple jillion rounds out there, but the same was true for 7.62x39 ammo and most of the surplus of it is gone to civilians at least.
Yeah, nothing special but you got a good deal. The postwar stock doesnt erally make any difference. For whatever reason during the refurb process they decided to replace the stock.
Steal of a deal! $50 less than what I paid for mine at a gunshow two years ago!
