SOLD OUT - INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CORPORATION M1 GARANDS
CMP received many mail orders today for the IHC rifles that were announced last Friday. The CMP will not accept any more mail orders for the IHC rifles. We do still have approximately 2,000 IHC rifles to inspect and repair and make ready for sale. We expect the next partial IHC release to be in November, 2014, but it may be sooner.

that's that for now.

It went quicker than I expected! Waiting to see if Orest divulges the total number of orders received before they shut the floodgates. It's going to be an interesting week or two.

IHC's all allocated - sold out

Today we received 125 FedEx / UPS, 324 Priority Mail, and 520 regular mail. All of the IHCs we had ready for mail order are allocated - in effect we are sold out and will not accept any more orders that are not in hand by close of business tomorrow. That should take into account any orders in the pipeline.

This does not affect the rifles we have at the North and South store for sale on Thursday.

Any orders that we are not able to fill from the current offering will be placed on backorder and will be filled as we inspect and grade more IHCs.

Thank you for your continued support of the CMP

There's hope yet for folks whose orders show up tomorrow!

So far they've received 969 orders; that's a lot fewer than I had expected. Greater chance of snagging an IHC for those of us who did get their orders in on time. Perhaps 1 out of every 3 orders will be filled right away, with the rest filled through the summer and fall.

Looks like some DBUs have started showing up. Anybody get one yet? I'm still waiting.

Not me, but they had just started into the huge stack of orders yesterday afternoon. I expect the rest of the DBU's will be sent out over the next few days.

On a related note, it looks like the CMP is keeping Monday's orders separate from those that arrive today when it comes to filling orders. That means those 900-odd early responders will have something like a 50-70% chance of having their orders filled from this first batch of IHC's, with the rest being placed on backorder until some more IHC's are processed for sale. So those who got their orders in yesterday will be pretty much guaranteed an IHC - if not this time around, then sometime this summer or fall. Some or all of the rest of the IHC's will go to fill the orders that come in today; if there's more than about 1100 such orders, that means the CMP won't have any more IHC's to sell once yesterday's and today's orders are filled, with some of today's orders possibly being tossed. This is erroneous - the CMP has 2000 more IHC's, so unless they get another 2,100 orders today, they should have enough for a second round of IHC sales in the next few or six months.

I suspect though the CMP has an unannounced stash of IHC's - how many and what they'll do with those, are the burning questions.

On a side note, I keep seeing guys on the CMP forum post about carbines and a pending release. I haven't seen anything regarding more carbines other than at auction, can someone fill me in?

I've heard a few references to a release of Carbines, but I got out of that business a while back, so I haven't paid much attention.

The "Carbine Rumor" is that there may be a release later this year. I'd sort of like to have a CMP Carbine if the price isn't too far out there, otherwise I'll just keep shooting my Inland mixmaster.

Back to the current thread - no DBU, and my USPS tracking number is apparently worth squat - seems nobody ever scanned it at any point along the way or some such. Last time I rely on USPS for anything even marginally important.
