Well, this morning I got a DBU and am on the back order list. It says my order was received on 6/4 which was the Wednesday after they started taking orders. I would be surprised if they don't back order enough of these to do away with the second release, at least through mail order. Looking at the rifle posted here earlier, I sure hope I get that lucky!

Already had it out to the range?? I'll probably not get around to doing that with mine for a few months, as Red Castle is an hour's drive and I usually have things going on each weekend. Where did you shoot?

Missed this earlier. Yep, already had it to the range. Typically I shoot a new firearm soon after receiving it. I am a member of Tri-City Gun Club in Newcastle. That is where I generally shoot rifles and it is where I shot the IHC. TCGC is about a 25 minute drive. Here is a little timeline. I received the rifle at 10:30. By 11:30 it was completely disassembled. By 13:00 it had been cleaned and reassembled. By 14:30 I was at the range shooting.

I just got the SN for the IHC I ordered; it's a 5.1M, also an IHC/IHC PS. Made circa Spring of 1954. I should receive it next Tuesday or Wednesday.

My IHC arrived yesterday; in a lot of ways, it's similar to OKC_Jim's IHC. It's got an LMR barrel with MW/TE of 1+ and 2, respectively - the hang tag numbers were pessimistic, according to the Stone Ax and pin gauges I have. The hang tag, incidentally, was dated 2-7-13. The op rod, front sight, and rear sight set are IHC, and the stock is post-war SA with a WW2 SA butt plate. There's some subtle tiger striping in the rear hand guard. The trigger group is mid- to late-WW2 SA with a milled hook on the stamped trigger guard. Overall, the rifle is a solid example of the Service Grade category; here are the obligatory pictures.

Looks good and does sound very similar to mine. Now get to the range!

Anybody know why my images are the tiny thumbnails that you hover your mouse over and others aren't? I kind of dislike the my tiny thumbnails.

Might be a while till I take this one to the range, as I have several other M1's that have yet to be shot :wink2:

As for the images, are you uploading yours directly to this forum? I'm uploading mine to Photobucket, then including the direct image link code in my post between the pair of IMG brackets that I type in. More work, but you've seen the results.
