As for the images, are you uploading yours directly to this forum? I'm uploading mine to Photobucket, then including the direct image link code in my post between the pair of IMG brackets that I type in. More work, but you've seen the results.

I wondered if it might be something like that. I never noticed that you can't edit old posts either.

Looks better! Of course, my pics don't have that high-falutin' copyright watermark in them

I knew I'd forgotten a detail - the barrel date on my rifle is 2-54, IIRC. The op rod also has a "D" code stamped on the underside of the charging handle area.

There is probably not any significance, but the tip of my op rod handle had just a tiny bit of fuzzy yellow paper stuck to it. That sounds like a bad joke, but it isn't. It just struck me as a bit odd.

Happy 4th to me, looks like my non-LMR IHC is shipping today! I thought for sure it'd be on back order until the fall.

bad news is it's the holiday and it won't get here until Monday, when I'll be on vacation. won't get to see it until Friday. another wait commences...

Will anyone be around to sign for the rifle? If not, have you contacted the CMP customer service folks to delay shipment till after you get back?

the IHC was delivered yesterday. it's a 5.1 mil postage stamp with a '53 SA barrel measuring 2&4. SA bolt, but trigger housing, hammer, safety, and op rod are all IHC. the metal's a dark nearly black park and is covered in cosmoline. armorer's tag says it was pulled in Nov. of 2012. overall I'm pretty pleased, it's a good example of a typical Service Grade mix.
unfortunately it came in a CMP stock so I've already tore it down and started refinishing it. I'll post pics when it looks a little better.

Hmm - mine's shown up as Pending in my account, with an Order Date listed of 06/24/2014 and CC preauth transaction number. Getting a little closer to the top of the stack perhaps?
