Saw those too. I think the first batch they released several months back sold out pretty fast. The latest batch of VKTs and Sakos have been around for a bit now. Maybe they'll start to come down. But I doubt it.

It's a pity they still put the import mark out in the open on the side of the receiver. The best receiver-based mark I ever saw was on the edge of the receiver cutout for the bolt; when the bolt was closed, the handle covered the import mark. Now that's the way to do it!

That is an awesome way to do it, I think most of them get placed in crummy locations because it's easier to just set them on the side and let the machine work. On my 91/59 it has a small clean import mark on the barrel I'm ok with that over the jacked up marks on the majority of them.

Here's the import mark on my wz48. It's so small, I thought it was a scratch until I brought out my jewelers specs. I wish they were all like this.

The price on the M39 rifles isn't bad, but Classic has been sending a lot of junk rifles in these batches. They are just the junk rifle rifles that Pat and her husband didn't want to mess with, at least that is the rumor.

Yeah, I heard something like that too. Also, the BATFE may have been giving them a hard time for them selling so many of them for so long and just being "collectors". Did you see the truckloads of M39s on Classics YouTube videos? 8-) It looks like the Burns's kept some nice ones though and they are selling on GB now.

I doubt the ATF had anything to do with it. Pat and her husband are getting pretty old and they can only process so many rifles, especially the way they sell them. I am guessing that they still have a bunch to sell and will be doing so for a long time. They had pretty much all of the M39's for the past decade plus. Classic has not been honest with the condition grading on these rifles, but Classic is gonna Classic.

I haven't dealt with Classic since the original owner retired, but at the time, they were a forthright and candid outfit. The descriptions of their wares were spot on, even if the stuff was worn out.

I also still get email notifications from Pat Burns with new rifles for sale, though they're less frequent than in the past.

That isn't the case with Classic now and it's not just with the M39's. Classic is not a company I will do business with again, unless there is a very good reason or no other option.
