The 7.7 Jap has one of the strongest actions every built.....if you get the right year.

Thanks. I see that Simpsons has some as well. I'm going to try and find a K31 for a bit first...if not then try for one of those.
So, since the weather was nice, I took my PU sniper to the range on Friday. My goals were to check the overall reliability, adjust the scope and establish a baseline for accuracy.
It seems as though I can live with the location of the reticle in the scope after I got it zeroed. I didn't really want to grind on the mount unless it was absolutely necessary. Let me know if you see any issues with that statement.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a great shooter and every gun I have is more accurate that I am. I have a lot to learn, but I don't let that stop me from seeing what it can do. Here's a 5 shot group @ 50 yards.

I was able to find a K31. Got several replies to a WTB thread on the CMP forum. I'm sure I'll be tempted to pick up a 1911 long or carbine too.
New rifle has been received. Will try to take some proper photos in better lighting tonight. Here's a teaser...
