It's actually called a hex head receiver but some call it a octagonal. There getting harder to find particularly in good condition. Sometimes you get the luck of the draw when buying one out of the crate unless they hand pick them, but then they kinda set those aside.

Ahh the hex receivers, gotcha. Yeah, those are pretty cool.

Have a 43 Mosin PU 91/30 sniper with original scope I'm hoping to buy if the guy would pull the trigger at a reasonable price. Not in the best shape but nothing critical except the price.

Was that necessary perplexed? If you read the other post you would have seen the correct spelling.

I believe it was, to keep uninformed folks from getting the wrong idea about the correct spelling. Especially since it's misspelled in the title of your thread.

On the other hand, I believe it was just another classic example of bad manners, especially since you did it again in your thread.
I was just trying to share an experience (gun related) that others might enjoy and, in the process, contribute something to the OSA site. Good for you!
Unfortunately this happens a lot here (OSA).
I'll go back to the bleachers and watch the game at OSA, and be active on other forums a bit more understanding.

I'm sorry to see you're taking some constructive criticism the wrong way. I don't see how pointing out the correct spelling was an example of bad manners - I certainly could have phrased my comment in a harsh way. However, I don't think I did, and it's too bad you're reacting negatively instead of graciously owing up to the error and seeking to have the title of your thread corrected.

It does help to have a sense of humor and a thicker skin on OSA, that's for sure :)
