You'd be surprised how many carry in a bar no matter what the law.
Sure they do . . . and people drive drunk and shoplift too. The point was that sometimes it is better to feed the anti-gun crowd just enough to let them think that they won something rather than never give anything and face a possible major defeat.

It all comes down to responsibility. I'm definitely a pro 2nd Amendment person, however, I would vote against a bill allowing open carry in a bar (not a restaurant serving alcohol, but a BAR). That does not make me anti-2A, it makes me concerned about what the Libs would due about our gun rights if a bunch of drunks started shooting each other over petty things. Wouldn't happen? Fights at closing time is a common occurrence at many bars. Am I anti 2nd Amendment? NO, but sometimes you have to give a little to avoid giving a lot (just make sure that what you get is a whole lot bigger than what you gave).

There is no litmus test to be a 2A supporters, and you can be generally for 2A rights while supporting (some) gun regulations, i think.

It seems to range between those who support licensing to those who think machine guns should be legal again.

I draw the line at an assault weapons ban though.

All gun restrictions do is hurt law abiding citizens. Period. Do you guys that “support some regulations yet support the 2A” really think criminals follow laws? You restrict all you want and it don’t mean a dang thing. I guess we should place restrictions on cars because they have been used to cause mass casualties. Sometimes some of you guys blow my minds.

“Despite the fact that the Obama administration approved the sale of bump fire stocks on at least two occasions, the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law,” NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, said in a joint statement.

“The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations. In an increasingly dangerous world, the NRA remains focused on our mission: strengthening Americans' Second Amendment freedom to defend themselves, their families and their communities.”

I posted this in another thread. I think I am done with the NRA. They are hypocrites. And I guarantee when Obama allowed these you didn’t hear the NRA standing up saying these things need to be regulated. They didn’t say a word I’m sure. And now they want to try and place the blame on Obama. It’s sickening for the NRA to stoop to such a low. I expect that from Democrats. This ain’t Obama’s fault. For once.

NRA betrayal.

Bumpstocks stabbed in the back by NRA today.

If I'm guessing the NRA's strategy here, they want bumpstocks moved under NFA rules. The only way I'd support that is if the NRA supports concurrent removal of the Hughes Amendment. The net effect is identical, so why not make the Dems "compromise" on smart legislation? :)

I would agree bumpfire should be added to the class III list just like a suppressor, it’s the only thing that makes sense. Banning them while real full autos are still legal under the NFA guidelines makes no sense at all.
