Actually, just measured mine and the measurements are accurate. 12 round mag adds less than 1/2". It fits a Glock 42 holster and a Glock 43 Fobus holster, except the Fobus is at least a half inch too long for the gun. Liking it more every day and that's saying something for one who prefers hammer to strikers.

After handling this P365 last night for a few hours, I’d Sig went taller on this weapon, they would almost need to make it wider. I can’t get over how thin this this really is. I held one at Wilshire and watched all the videos, but still didn’t think it was that thin.

I agree, it almost seemed "too good to be true" when I heard about it, but I've watched numerous videos on YouTube with people using calipers to measure all aspects of this gun, and it's the real deal.

Very much so the real deal. I have had mine about a month and have just over 300 rounds through it. It is a very nice pistol! Just waiting for my UBG Bonneville to show up and I will be GTG

Been doing some thinking. Sig was able to design a weapon around a small compact mag that holds 10 rounds. They made the weapon very thin and compact.

This had me wondering. What could Sig do with this model and in terms of a bigger weapon and what could the capacity be? If they made a compact and full-size version of the P365, could you imagine the capacity?

I have been saying since the beginning that a Glock 19 size profile on this gun would be a hit too. Maybe as much as the existing version.

Per this post:
http://sigtalk.com/p250-p320-p365-p320-x-5-pistols/272505-p365-12-round-magazines-3.html#post3814353

The 12rd extended mag is 3/8" longer. The P365 specs list 4.3" height - I assume with a 10rd mag. That would make the height with 12rd to be 4.675".

For comparison, the G43 height is 4.25", and the G19 height is 4.99". So another 2 rounds would make the gun 5.05" long. So G19 profile would give you an inch of barrel, 14+1 rounds, but 3/16" thinner than the G19. I'd carry that!

In the same vein as the P320 Compact FLS (full length slide), another option would be the 4" barreled P365, and keep the 10rd grip length, but then also offer 14 and 16 round extended mags.

Incidentally, if the extrapolation holds, a 16rd mag would make the gun almost identical in height to the Glock 17.

Something else that comes to mind...Did Sig shoot themselves in the foot by releasing this P365? If they were to increase size with it, I can only imagine it would hurt P320 sales?

Nope. I have big hands. For a OWB gun, duty gun, or range toy / competition gun, I would prefer the P320. The slim size will appeal to some for range/serious duty (girls, and men with girly hands), but for many the appeal is as a concealable gun, in which case going any further up in size from the 19 really doesn't add much market.

I'll summarize my ramblings. What I want to see is:

P365-3 (current version with 3" barrel)
P365-4 (new: 4" barrel, duh! Same grip length)
10rd flush mag (existing)
10rd pinky ext mag (existing, though I don't know why one wouldn't just use the 12rd)
12rd ext mag (existing)
14-16rd ext mag (new)

I carry IWB if I'm concealing, unless I'm wearing a jacket and can plan on keeping it on. So I would carry the 4" gun, with a 10rd mag inserted. Then say they do a 15rd, I could carry one or two extra. That would be 25-40rds on your person. With my current carry gun
(Kahr CM9) I'd have to carry with a 6rd flush, and even with the 8rd mags, I'd have to carry two of them just to get *close* to the 25rds. I'd have to carry 4 spare 8rd mags to compete with 2-15rd extended mags.

Rambling again... They could potentially just sell an "upper kit" with just the 4" slide/barrel assembly for use on existing frames.

I'm sure the SIG guys are pondering such, but with close to a years production of this little gun backordered I would be surprised to see anything soon.

Interesting ramblings. I have held and fiddled with the rental one at Big Boys a little bit. I am still on the fence though, however, a couple of guys whose opinions I do value have reported nothing but positive things about this little gun. I think I may just keep the G43 as my deep CCW piece and see if SIG does come up with something a bit larger but thinner, as rambled above.
