Last two were my Henry AcuBolt and my Savage MkII-F,,,
I had The Evil Pawn Shop Guy bore-sight them for me.

It only took 6 rounds each to dial them in perfectly at 50 yards.

I just mounted a Cabela's 3-9x40 scope on my CZ-512 Rifle,,,
And a Cabela's 2-7x32 scope on my CZ-512 Carbine.

I'll drop the rifle and carbine off at The Evil Pawn Shop tomorrow,,,
Then come Sunday I'll head to the range and spend a few happy hours with them.

Battled the wind and shot a few clays this afternoon. I took my new Winchester 101 and my buddy brought his Benelli Ethos. When this wind settles down we’ll bust ‘em out again.

Well I went to pick up my CZ 512 rifle and carbine Saturday morning,,,
Turns out that my guy wasn't able to bore sight them for me.

I had read that CZ rifles have a tighter than normal bore,,,
And that was proven when he couldn't get the tool into the muzzle.

He did level the scopes and tighten everything for me though,,,
So Sunday I went to the range to try them out.

It took 25 rounds per each long gun,,,
But I dialed them in pretty dang good I think.

Using a plastic MTM Case-Gard front rest and a blanket for a rear rest,,,
I was hitting 1/2" sticker spots every shot at 50 yards.

I was ecstatic!

Next three rifles I'll take to get bore-sighted are:
  • H&R Handi-Rifle in .357 Magnum sporting a Bushnell Banner 3-9x4- scope.
  • H&R Sportster in .22 LR sporting a Cabela's 4x32 rimfire scope.
  • Western-Field 815 with an American Eagle 4x?? scope.
I've been told it's a waste of time and money to have my guy bore sight the guns for me,,,
But he consistently dials them in so that I'm no more than 3" off at 50 yards.

I say that's a 10-dollar bill well spent.

My S&W Model 986 was returned to me yesterday and it still has issues. There were 7 or 8 misfires out of more than 200 rounds fired, all of them WWB 115 grain FMJ's from WallyWorld.

When it shoots properly, I think it is a great revolver and if I can get these misfires eliminated, I have a house gun. I'll shoot it some more today, and determine if only certain chambers are in line when they don't go bang. Just as soon as it gets light, I'll take it out, only this time it will get Federals

Now that I said I had all the guns I wanted in @D. Hargrove's poll and then turned right around and bought that Colt Commander in @lasher's thread I guess I'm gonna see if I can shoot on crutches. Lol I gotta get out Wednesday, so that seems like as good a time as any to run by the range and give it a whirl. I'm sure Grumpy will argue with me about it. I'm equally sure he will not win this one, either. :fallangel
