That's not entirely shocking. He did an interview either before the Big 12 Championship or the Heisman ceremony (I don't recall which) where he was a little bit cagey about it, but it was pretty clear that he'd either be playing pro baseball or in the NFL next year.

He’s not well suited for the NFL, but they will keep trying I am sure.
I agree. NFL is kicked up a notch or two. He won't be as dominate there as he is in college. Look at Baker's numbers. They are about 1/2 of what he averaged in college.
I hope he chooses football over baseball. MLB is a long road to the top vs the NFL imo. Go make some money Kyler.
He'll make more money in MLB than NFL. But if he can do both like Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders I say go for it.

I think he'll get lost in the shuffle working his way through MLB, if was was batting .400 or .500 it would definitely be a different story. Kyler is blazing fast, but I'd take someone a hair slower for a better batter.

I’ve never heard that about Baker in the NFL, they had concerns about his impulsive behavior for sure. I will also point out he’s only plaeyd a tad more than a half season, he’s a Far cry from being a legendary NFL QB at this point. In reality the jury is still out on Baker, I expect him to progress and get even better but you never know.

Do you watch the NFL lol? I'm not sure how anyone could've missed the drama when he was drafted. Not big enough, not fast enough, etc. etc.....

It's the playoffs, which is near the end of the season. He's had a better rookie year than most before him, including some large names. He's taken a garbage organization and won some good games. Nobody is legendary, nor reproduces college numbers, but as far as the jurying being out? Well, I'm not sure many would agree with you.

I guess should have said a successful QB, and you can’t yet call Baker a success either ..........He’s had a decent year, but nothing outstanding? In 3 years we can have a discussion about how great baker is going to be.

He broke the rookie TD passing record. Just stop while you're ahead man lol.

Well he’s not going to be a QB in the NFL, he’s a lot like RGIII only smaller (and we all know how well that turned out). Most of the QB’s with wheels (in the NFL) are much larger , Deshaun Watson, Cam Newton, Lamar Jackson are all bigger guys and look at Cam Newton even he’s staring t wear out. Murray is 5’11”and a buck’94, I just don’t see him lasting very long in the NFL. I will say is quicker than nah other QB I’ve seen, maybe ever but I just don’t see him impacting the NFL.

As for Bakers numbers dropping, can you show me any college QB that maintained his college numbers in the NFL? I mean they actually know and understand defense in the NFL, and even play defense lol
I'm actually agreeing with you about Kyler in the NFL. Careers are much shorter there. And it's a rare bird indeed that is as good in the NFL as they were in college. And just because Baker's numbers are less doesn't really mean squat as to how good he is or will be there. He just won more rookie of the week awards than anyone has, IIRC.

My advice to Kyler would be to go to the MLB. He'll have a longer career and make more money there. But if he can do both for awhile and negotiate the deals to do that, then I'd say do that, but focus on the MLB for the long run.
