Of course, you're absolutely right. But will plain ol Joe Civilian do anything about training? Or will he just go buy a gun and put it in the drawer, or maybe...just carry it with only the SDA Course under his belt? We have members here who have only done the SDA, no training beyond that at all, yet many of them will surely post up their opinions based on what they saw on YouBoob or read in some gun magazine or whatever.
And you are spot on as well. What you mention is why I don’t give a crap what folks do. These days, I only talk or write for my own benefit it seems

Did this guy cull any of this raw data into anything resembling statistics?
That I’d like to see

I haven't seen it yet. Or at least not anything but pieces of it. There have been some other stuff he has put out. Like never a case where a weapon light was used (or appeared to be needed) in a Civilian SD event other than inside a house. He did make a statistical report of those that were at the Rangemaster Instructor Reunion as to the carry gear ( I think the number was 51) . Guns make, action, size, caliber, holster material and position carried etc. It was interesting as was the subsequent surveys of a broader Rangemaster group and a third of his audience. I have some of the reunion info handy.

86% Striker
12% DA
2% SA

72% Glock and M&P
6% HK
6% Beretta
4% Sig
4% CZ
2% 1911

94% Fullsize
6% SubCompact

Interesting stats on the full size vs subcompact. I would have thought more on the subcompact.
