I don't worry about time. In my opinion there are a zillion bullets flying around my head. One of these days one will connect when it's my time.
I have friends, school mates and relatives that died in their thirties and forties from heart attacks or other ailments.
In my life I don't worry about that random bullet but try to focus on the ones aimed at me. Diet, exercise and visits to the DR for semi-annual checkups.
If something isn't right, get it checked out, and stay the hell off the internet when trying to diagnose yourself and the issues your experiencing. My wife almost went insane trying to diagnose herself on WebMD. Thought she was gonna die because of some specks on a lung X Ray. After a year of anguish and finally a visit to a specialist she was told her entire issue was stress. The specks in her lungs were normal for every person sitting in his waiting room that day. 5 years ago
Don't fall into the trap of internet diagnosing.

What? Me? Lose a small tiny part like the safety plunger spring for a G19? Or the same thing for a Kimber Micro .380? Or a thin, custom Hogue grip screw for a Sig M11-A1 for which I have no spare? Or the extractor plunger/safety detent spring for a vintage PPK/S? Or .... etc.

All of those parts you mentioned are extremely air soluble.

Welp, the weather has temporarily brought me to a screeching halt on this project. I am no hurry and I need to drill the stock for the tenon pins then I can start putting the finish on the barrel and the stock. But I need warm weather again before this can happen. Looks like we sort of slid back to good ol' March weather for a few days.

Okay, so this got put on the back burner for a few days but I got back on it today for a couple of hours. I filed and installed the tenons and the sights. That was a good 2 1/2 hours, at least. Then I decided to do one last dry fit to check everything before I start doing the finish on the barrel and the stock. The only thing left to do before the finish work is to the drill the stock and barrel tenons. Might do that tomorrow, might not. I'll see how it's going.

Lousy pics, but here's the rifle, assembled, pre-stain and barrel finish. Everything lines up well; the wood to brass fit is darn good!

Did you make the custom spacer, like you talked about? Maybe I missed it.
