Got pulled over going through Meeker Friday night. First time I've been pulled over since Constitutional carry was passed and I started carrying. I know it's not required but I would rather the officer was not surprised by anything. So when the officer asked for license and insurance I politely informed him I had a pistol on my side and asked how he would like me to proceed as I have to reach past it to get my wallet.

He got a smile on his face and simply said "I'll make you a deal. You don't reach for yours and I won't reach for mine."

I accepted his terms and the entire stop didn't last more than 10 minutes and he simply informed me that my tag lights were out. No ticket, no problems.

That will be the way most cops will handle it since you did your part as a good citizen.

At mile marker 308 on I44 I had an OHP have to help me out of the car because I couldn't stand. In my best slurred voice I told him I had a gun in the car. He said he wasn't too worried about the gun in the condition I was in and let me go. I wish I could meet that officer again. He helped save my life.

You went through Meeker without getting a ticket?
I passed through twice (went through Meeker and then came back).
I was warned in advance and sure enough had an officer follow me all the way through both times.
You need a T shirt!

Had an OHP Trooper use a similar line on me in 2009, "You don't show me yours, and I won't show you mine..."
