I was out there with a buddy today. It is far from perfect, however it met our needs. We had fun!

Well it wouldn’t kill them to do some maintenance, a little weed whacking it had been kind of a dump the last few time I was there. The old man is a cantankerous curmudgeon (which is why I like him...hahaha) but it has to be hard to make money out of the place. It’s always had a hard time being a successful business I never quite understood why, seems like it should be the best in town.

Some irony here...while they need targets and dirt work and such...the employee said they are just fine with you shooting Tannerite in a few of the bays (unsolicited info, I think he said 1# or less).

So I cant shoot my 4.5" 9mm MPX in the bays that used to be steel challenge and now just have paper target holders up....but hell yeah bring 1# bottles of Tannerite and go to town!!!

So I talked to one of the employees today who said he was hired in May and has been working to get everything straightened out. Supposedly he's the one who fixed the issue with the 300yd range flooding and fixed the drains in the 50yd bays. He said they have all the steel in house and are supposedly going to have all steel challenge bays back to normal operation by spring and will also have steels for the 300yd bay.
Also said they are going to buy equipment to extend the 300yd bay out MUCH further...supposedly to surpass Red Castle.

So...some progress would be cool but we shall see. I told him with the current state of things, I would not be renewing my membership. If he succeeds in half the stuff he said they are working on....it would be worth it.

Well it is now Oct 8. And still waiting. I got the same BS about all new steel in one of the storage blds but they refuse to put it out..

Yeah, it was the same junk last time I was out there. Hard to get excited about shooting sports when the range blows ass and ammo is hard to come by.

I used to shoot at USSA a lot years back, it was a good range. Sorry to hear it has got that sorry.
