Maybe the stock was busted and they had some parts laying around that could put the weapon back into service.

It just slams the bullet nose into the roof of the chamber.
Is it all follow the leader and make all variants of the 1911 with the same feed ramp.
I think they are junk.
You must crimp the snot out of the bullets to keep them from being pushed into the case.
