I’m looking for input regarding affordable night vision options.

I recently built a 6.8SPC and topped it with a thermal scope. All works great but I’m looking for an option for scanning out to maybe a couple hundred yards and then switch over to the thermal when I’ve got something actually coming in. Plus it would be nice to have for observation when someone is using the thermal.

Anyone have any suggestions? First hand experience? I was reading up on the Bushnell Equinox but know noting other that what I read.

Most guys I know use a reputable QD mount for their thermal scope. They scan with scope, put on gun and shoot. (Test it a few times to verify sight in stays on)

I have both NV and thermal and it is a lot quicker picking up animals with the thermal than the NV. Matter of fact unless focused for the distance its really hard to pick up something not moving when quickly scanning.

With NV I finally accepted that the only way I was going to really be able to use my PVS-14 was with an IR light and Laser. That works fine but not for something way out there. Next, I really do want to try a thermal scope.
