Just the other day there were 2 guys that parked their silver car away from the house they were knocking on the door at.

In a cul-de-sac where I live.
No reason for them to be there I was taking the trash out and on the second trip they were still knocking on the neighbors door.

I went inside got a dark heavy coat and stood in the shadow of the Oak tree in the yard .
This was 8:30 pm. I also have my 45acp ready in hands.
One proceeded around the front of the parked vehicle in the drive way and looked around the side of the house.
I asked if they were lost and they said they were missionaries.

I said It is too late for this Bull **** you need to GIT!
I then said Hit the Road MFers .

I then thought UUUHHHH They could have a gun also.
So I squatted down to make myself a smaller target and still hiding in the darkness of the tree with my dark clothes on.

One walked to the car with his hands out in front of him and the other followed.

When they were walking up to the house before I rn them off they waived at me and I did not know them and to me that is a sign.
of a confidence booster type thief move.

I talked with the owner and they were gone and did not expect any company and have no dealings with missionaries.

A day or 2 later the neighborhood had 2 break-ins or 1 and 1 attempted and it was 2 guys in a silver car.

Probably the same squirrels.
I should have got a tag number.

Now for the question at hand.
I want a camera as i do not have a phone.
Or at least paper and pencil.
More ammo!
Not the (My) 1911 firearm as it is not as reliable on chambering rounds yet.

I will take my hi-point I kid you not.
Stupid accurate and never fail to chamber or eject.
A chest plate would be nice.
Or other type of body protecting device.

I do not need a bunch or crap hanging off my body.
That will slow down a foot chase or possibly make clanging or other noise as I am trying to move quietly.

On a serious note: Mission drives equipment

Also, only carry equipment you can/know how to use. Lots of folks carry TQs and have never been trained on or practiced using them. 2 way radio is cool...if you have someone to talk to etc. Figure out what you are realistically going to be doing and plan from there.
what are some things you consider as bare minimum essentials? the things that go every time before adding the mission specific items?

How about calling 911 and reporting them? I see people on Next Door reporting this type of activity and most of the time those posters never call the police.

I scale my kit in the 1st line, 2nd line, and 3rd line context...sort of. It's been a long time since I did it for blood or money.

1st line is handgun and at least one reload for rifle and pistol, pocket knife, flashlight and some sort of first aid.

2nd line is more ammo, multitool, water, pocket chow, notepad/paper. This is primarily a chest rig/camelback

3rd line is snivel gear, food, more ammo, spare clothes/layers etc...usually in a 3-day pack.

These days it's more likely to be me, in my boxers with a cell phone and a rifle/pistol LOL

What did they do that was illegal.

Knock on the door look around the side of the house.
The police were called on them the other day by someone else but by the time the police showed up the guys were gone.
They were checking car doors to see if they were locked.
May not be the same 2 guys but could be.

I would rather run them off.
Police do not get here quickly anyway.
