I have long been a lover of the 1911, and have always stuck with 45 ACP, the one God in tended.

But I'm thinking of picking up a 9MM in the 1911 platform.

Which one do you like best?
My experience with 9mm 1911's is limited, but I will offer a very biased opinion. I recently picked up a Dan Wesson Vigil in 9mm and could not be more impressed. There might be nicer ones out there, but not at that price point. Amazing gun for the money.

I second this, although I have to admit I haven’t shot another 9mm aside from my Dan Wesson. I really like the 9mm in the 1911 platform and will eventually pick up another one.

The Ruger Commander-style.

I also have a Rock Island officer's model type that had apparently been worked on and was a piece of junk.

The RIA that I have is a true Jam-o-Matic.

The Springfield Ronin is a great pistol but my Dan Wesson ECO is even better. For me it is perfect right out of the box. Wouldn't change a thing and it's a tack driver as is the Ronin. I like it so much a Vigil is high on my list of must have pistols. As soon as budget allows I will own one.

No experience with them, but I have been considering this one, especially if the street price gets back down to the nearly $700-$750 I recall seeing before.

Although this Ronin interests me as well.

I heard an elderly gentleman at H&H tell a guy that if a sweet shooting 1911 in 9mm is what he is after, he should strongly consider the Ronin. He said it handled like a firearm way over its price point. FYI

I have a range office target and a range officer elite compact. I like them both. They both go bang with good mags. The compact has issues with stock mags with FTF was great with Tripp cobra mags.

as always with 1911s plan on getting good mags, for 9mm go Tripp cobra.
