My e1e bulb, went out so replaced it with an led head. It’s bigger for heat dissipation but so much brighter

If it's a tool I use every day, I stick with quality. Not saying Fenix is junk, I just know and trust Surefire. If I have a problem with their light, they'll fix it. No questions asked and I don't gotta figure out who or where to call.

I'm not sure, but it seems like the PD35 had a reverse clicky tailcap instead of a forward. That's why I didn't go with it. Reverse clicky means no momentary on.

Shoot, I think I still have my original Kel light but mine was a C cell version about a foot long. It's in a box somewhere, probably with my Monadnock.

Mine is forward clicky and has momentary on.

I’m worse with flashlights than with guns. In your case I’d only carry flashlights that support the voltage range to support rechargeable and cr123 batteries. Get the best of both worlds.

I have one of those and it is not real useful for EDC. It is useful for making light.

It seemed too busy for me. Too many outputs, too many buttons, it looked like it would switch on inside a pocket.

I like simple. Surefire G2X, one output, one switch, perfect amount of spill and throw. If 600 lumens is too much, I just grap my Streamlight Microstream and I have the perfect amount of low beam without having to switch a bunch of things and push a button two or three different clicks to find the right output. It just works for me.

I carry this light by Streamlight:

https://www.streamlight.com/en/products/detail/index/stylus-pro-usb

Uses 2 AAA batteries; about the size of a Sharpie pen, fits in a shirt pocket, Streamlight makes a rechargeable, Aimpoint gave me one when I bought an optic at Christmas.

I've been carrying one of those in the non-rechargeable version for a couple years now. I like to slip it in the leg pocket of my pants - I wear 5.11 EMT pants at work, so I keep 2 pens and the light in the left side pocket, they fit perfectly. I got a new pair of pants for Christmas and I like the pocket setup for them as well, they're more comfortable than my 5.11s, since I don't need the blood and body fluid shielding so much anymore these days, I think I need to find out where to get more of these, lol

But the flashlight in the side pocket has become so handy... wearing jeans just sucks anymore. I gotta have roomy pockets and preferably side pockets, too.
