Build your own on a form 1
if following the experts instructions can be approved in about 30 days+
PPA makes stuff and they are in Tulsa area.
Basically file form1, get approved, buy kit, drill holes and clips, go shoot.
On most you really don't save a lot of money, just waiting time and get to say "I made that"

Thats appealing. I take it you have done the same? do you have commercially made suppressors to compare it to, and Whats the performance like?

you have to do research because there are different dimensions depending on subsonic or supersonic ammo.
I have a couple 1980's sionics 9mm mac-10 cans which work great for 300 blk and 7.62x39 subsonics
I am going to build a super can for 5.56, 7.62x39 and 308 supersonics and then a 22lr can later.
Just waiting on the paperwork as I only efiled on 1/31.
a good place to start is https:/Form1suppressor.boards.net

How long is it taking you to get the stamp back?

Could not locate remote server

Check that the address is spelled correctly, or try searching for the site.

Looks like I have some reading to do!

Main thing to remember is when filling out eform put in manufacturer space- FMI (thats capital F capital M capital I that's an eye) it stands for form1.
Then under model don't put something like HoLeChit.
Just scroll down the dropdown list to N/A and put that.
Putting a mfgr and model can make it go pending research which causes a 90 day or more delay.
After its approved you can engrave what ever you want on it as long as it includes your name, city and state, caliber and serial number.

So I never got a can. But I’ve decided I’m gonna get one now. The new efile system reducing the wait makes the process more appealing.

I’m still big on the idea of getting two cans.

a few things:

a rimfire can is very appealing, but I realize that none of my rimfires currently have threaded barrels. I also don’t really feel the need For a rimfire can. Yeah, they’re fun. Yeah, they’re quiet. But I don’t necessarily need ear pro for hunting squirrels and the cost of buying new barrels/threading my rimfires is gonna cost more than the can.

I feel a pistol can is simply a novelty and of little use to me, so that’s out of the question.

I know for sure I want a 30 cal can. Needs/uses: 762x39 bolt gun, 16” AK, 7” AK pistol, possibly turning it into a future SBR. Not on the table now though. Also to be used on a 308win bolt gun, I’ll likely be purchasing a 300wm or possibly a 300wsm or 300prc eventually.

With a pistol can out of the question, and a rimfire doubtful, should I pony up the cash for a dedicated 223 can? Or should I just get a rimfire can anyways? Or… my other idea, get a modular 30cal can, one that I can replace the front baffle with a 223 sized opening, and call it good?

would a 30cal can with a 223 end cap perform well? Or just so/so?

I’m seriously considering this Rex Silentium. Figure I could give @GHArms some business finally. Things I like about it:

=6 lug QD mount.
=from what I have seen in videos, there’s little to no POI shift
=The ability to adjust the length is nice. I understand the shorter version isn’t necessarily hearing safe, but being able to cut the weight and length down when needed would be nice.
=interchangeable front caps seem like a good thing?

anything similar to consider?

For the record, I’m considering a Q Erector or the Rex Silentium MG22 with the SS baffle upgrade if I do end up getting a rimfire can.

I’ve looked at the Banish 30 and the Yankee Hill Machine Resonator, but neither of them would be able to be mounted on my AK pistol due to barrel length.

I hadn’t looked at suppressor prices in a while. Looks like I’m gonna spend as much on a suppressor as I would on the S&W 610 I’ve been listing after plus mods. Looks like I’m getting a suppressor. Maybe both. Who knows.
Sucks you can buy one overseas over the counter for under a hundred bucks. The suppressor business in the US is a racket. Same brands, same models.
