Dying FDE floorplates?

Anyone done this with success? I found FNP 45 15 round mags in stock, but only had FDE floorplates. Not a huge deal, but I'd like to be able to have black. Rather than order some, wondering if anyone has done this cheaply.

I've heard of using RIT dye on Pmags and such.

Thanks again man. I still haven't received my mags, but I did run 6 Sig new style floorplates in some dye today. These were originally red. I bought a few of these about a year ago where were 1/8th of the price of black ones.

Let the water boil, put 3 cap full's in and stirred occasionally for 5 minutes. Even coat, flat black and look great.

That's great. I'm glad it worked for you.

I read a lot of stuff on gun forums and some of it is actually useful once in a while.
