I've build a few ARs and have enough lowers and parts to build a few more. I don't really need more but I can't see me passing up supporting good causes and getting some good local made guns for that support.

So, while considering the options I began to ask why chose billet over forged? Is the folder something that would be useful to me?

What do OSAers think? Which will you choose and why?

I'll be in for two folders and likely two forged. I don't know that I NEED the folders, but that's a stupid price for them, and the money is doing double, so sure. I've personally never seen a big difference in forged over billet, so for the others then I figure take the cheaper option if I'm dropping 500 on the folders.

I went for three forged and two billet. Nothing particularly different between them aside from looks, and an integral trigger guard in the billet. The forged is technically a little bit stronger simply due to the manufacturing process. I figure if I use a couple of these for larger calibers I’ll build them with the forged lowers. No real reason otherwise. The folders just really didn’t do anything for me.

I'm thinking one of each right now but I might change my mind. Matching numbers would be cool.

This is based on me coming up with some extra funds soon though so...
