No backstabbing for me. I'm on an electrical forum that is of the opinion people who backstab their electrical are pure money making 15 minute service calls. All my connections are wrapped on the side terminals.
After replacing all of them I used an extension cord and metered the grounds and have continuity on all.

Here is a beauty from a local church.

Somebody was hitting the communion wine before they put in those switches.

Did your church use a repeatable licensed contractor?

You mean reputable? Matter of opinion there. It was under construction and I had the fire/burg alarm and camera job. This was the same place where I was working up in the ceiling and burned my arm on the 4 inch conduit mains feeding the transformer in the electrical room. It was that hot because of an imbalance of some kind. The city inspector said if I had not burned my arm it probably would have gone unnoticed and caused a major fire. It wasn't glowing hot yet but it was around 150 degrees and the cables around it were warm.

My house was previously owned by an electrician that owned his own business. I have cussed this dude more than a few times over the last 5 years. There is no way half the dova I have found he did would pass code. If you google cheap bastard. Wikipedia has a picture of him.

To be fair, many people in the trades are the worst about upkeep on their own home because they are tired of doing it all day. An electrician will only do what he has to keep power, plumber water, etc, etc. I have seen it many times.

Were - low voltage tech yes.
Larm guy yes
I was installing a camera up in the ceiling while the electrical inspector was doing an inspection. After I burned my arm, I brought it to the attention of the EC not the inspector. The EC put a man on it right away checking the problem and discovered the imbalance. That is what they told me.

The security and fire alarm guys crack me up. They run their cables across the overhead any way they see fit but us data/network guys have to follow a standard. We'll get in there and see alarm cables laying across the drop ceiling, draped on sprinkler pipes but we have to make a proper path with J-hooks.

I used to know a couple of staff electricians at OU, and they had some stories to tell. Let's just say that electrical codes have changed a mite in the 100+ years since some of those buildings were built (and electrified), and not all electrical contractors do everything according to Hoyle.
