I have heard of issues with 7.62x39 bolts breaking and wearing quicker, so I would go with 223 Wilde or 5.56 chamber. I have millspec, JP, and Geissele triggers in my ARs all function and it’s just a matter of preference. I want to try one of the larue triggers because they are supposed to be comparable to the geisseles at a cheaper price point. Invest in a front pivot pin installation tool, they are cheap and it will save you a headache. Be careful on the trigger guard pin, the ears can snap easily when installing if not supported. Definitely go with a M16 bolt carrier group. Check out School of the American Rifle on YouTube, there is a lot of good information on that channel. I would recommend buying a complete upper if this is going to be a one and done for your venture into ARs. There are a lot more specialty tools needed to assemble an upper receiver.

Use this “special” tool for the front pivot pin.

I lost mine after 10 plus years, and had to replace it. Think I may be out a buck and a half total.

Not that far back, I think M-16s I shot had 1 in 12 twist, only ammo I saw was the M193 ball (55 grain).
They had the newer bird cage flash suppressors, not the old three prong style.
We called those the wait-a-minute-device because they caught on everything when you were snoopin and poopin.
