2021 sheds

Stumbled across the first bunch Thursday while getting some hot wire ready on some wheat. The second set I found today while mostly glassing some alfalfa, brome and wheat fields. Saw 2 nice bucks still packing both sides also.

Nice! We logged 6 miles on a 280 acre tract today in Okfuskee County. Got blanked. Didn’t check the trail cams until afterwards. Not one deer had shed on this property yet. At least that’s what the cams told me. I’m hearing reports of about 50% have shed so far.

That is SO COOL! I am jealous! I have never been stalked before!

I made a quick trip up yesterday to check my house for freeze damage and took a little time to top off feeders, and I found two fresh sheds riding through an old food plot. This prompted me to do a little walking, and I found a couple more that were from last year. I was up the end of January and found a fresh shed.

I’m still seeing a few bucks with both sides, but I would guess they’re only hanging on by a thread.

I won’t really do any serious shed hunting until the end of March or the first of April, so I can combine it with a morel hunt.
Here’s a one with/one without from today.

Picked up an older one today that's got a 13" G-2 & a 6 1/2" first circumference. Hasn't been chewed up much either. Laying out in the middle of the pasture. Never saw this deer last year or this year.

Exact same thing happened to me on Sunday Bowhunter - minus the stalking! Found a dead head and last year's shed but cams showed the bigger bucks still had horns on 2/25. Okfuskee county also. Anxious to get back out tomorrow!

Fences where the jump over. Trails with overhanging brush or branches. Even bedding areas when the move while sleeping. I’m going to check a couple places this weekend
