I cant believe I haven't thought of that. Coasting along in a canoe beats the hell out of stomping through the forest, or with my luck, finding myself in the middle of another field of stinging nettles.
Haha well that doesn't sound fun at all. I'm a sucker for a miserable time, I may have to try my luck. is wearing crazy expensive camo and having a bunch of calls a requirement for shooting turkeys, or can it be done with less?
No crazy expensive camo is required for any game. A plad shirt breaks up your body outline and animals are all color blind lol. A call is required but its an art to use one I have learned. We hunted with a friend who was a master with a call box. He called em in right to us and as long as you dont move, they wont see ya.

Dad and I used to drive the county roads on Pott co where he was raised. He knew all the hot spots with pecan trees. No we weren't road hunting, we would see one and exit the truck and walk around the tree to move the squirrel so one of us could get a shot at the head. Always shot em in the head so not to waste any meat. I used an air rifle one year, very effective. I could practice with it in my backyard hitting small rocks in the grass on the edge of a flower bed that had those small white rocks in it. Essentially putting the rocks back in the flowerbed from 50 yards away LOL
It was a tack driver

I've considered getting an air rifle. I played with one of those airforce air rifles a few years back. I wouldn't mind ponying up the extra cash for one.

Consider the .22 cal air rifle rather than the .17 cal.
Either will work if u hit a squirrel in the noggin but bigger seems better. It may not be as accurate though so may wanna research that.
