Well of course...quakenbush is in another league than what I was describing...so is Beeman & RWS...I just wanted folks to know the cheap pumpers of our childhood are now more powerful and therefore can potentially do more without the cost. Longevity, reliability, and even big bore...then you move into a whole new league...It cost more to do PCP than to use a real rifle...I just haven't been able to cross that line yet. I respect those that do...I just like seeing what I can do with cheaper stuff. If I reach a big bore need, I'd probably opt for a 12 gauge slug LOL...but it is cool people hunt larger game with air guns...just have to take a closer shot I guess.

for multi pump air rifles, Sheridan Blue Streak with rocker safety was the preferred choice for the longest time. about $75 to $100. rocker safety silver streaks selling for about twice $$. very nice triggers with solid hunting power. 20 cal .. last darn near forever if one leaves 2-3 pumps when putting away. probably have 4-5 silver/blue streaks laying around. got one mint condition silver streak carefully packed away.

this was before all the modern choices appeared. now loads and loads of air rifles of all price ranges. there's actually very nice PCP medium priced air rifles out there, that includes a pump.

years ago did a butt load of trading on Yellow forum. just did a search, seems they finally closed down.

the 20 cal was apparently very popular back in the mid 20th century...best of both worlds between 177 and 22 but harder to get ammo for these days...Sheridan name was bought out by someone I think, maybe Crosman. The Benjamin pumps were also very popular...lotta complaints about the newer ones though. My first PCP will probably be a Benjamin woods walker if I ever progress to PCP. I really like the carbines...

Here is the one I settled on https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Diana_RWS_460_Magnum/1204#9491

I will say it’s a beast and quite accurate at 50 yards.

I've had this one for more years than I can remember, Diana RWS side lever. It has a hair trigger. you better be ready when you touch the trigger.

I haven't read anything that says what trigger is in it. Whatever came from the factory back in the late 80's is what it has.

reason I asked was rekord triggers are fully adjustable for first stage travel, weight for both first stage and second stage. if remember correctly some of the RWS came with rekord, some didn't.

rekord triggers are easily tuned to make trigger set to what ever weight to make safe.
to me setting airgun to match trigger weight of your primary rifle, makes all the difference in gaining valuable trigger time. more so now that ammo has gotten soooo expensive.

all you need is cardboard box stuffed with rags and paper targets.

a nice trigger is why Sheridan blue/silver streaks with rocker safety were so desirable for dirt cheap ($75-$100). not all Sheridan blue/silver streaks had nice triggers. most were junk.

I have a childhood friend and when he was a teenager he owned a Benjamin .22 cal pump pellet gun. It seems he was out with another friend who had a 30.06 and the friend shot the 3006 and it went through the walls of a home and the next thing a Game Warden came up to them and confiscated both their guns. My friend could hit a running rabbit wit that pellet gun.
I have a RWS Diana Mod 48 (spring powered) that is a beautiful gun, walnut stock, a bit heavy for me that I'll probably give to my friend if I see him again to replace his Benjamin. Dang, I have to go back and re-check my spelling, I have cataracts and am getting where I can't see too pretty good. Looks fine the first time but when I go back i see misspelled words.
