Here is the side by side adult and older regular Daisy. Adult has plastic trigger and logo on opposite side. A few other differences like loading gate and a safety.it is what it is. Just wanted one to have along with the one I carried as a kid.

Mine arrived around 10:30 this morning, but I haven't unboxed it yet. Slept very little last night and feel kinda rough today.

My childhood BB gun is disassembled out in the shop (at least I hope it's still there). I had thought it was a Red Ryder, but maybe not since it had a plastic stock. It was a hand-me-down from an older cousin when I was 7 or 8 ('63/'64-ish?), so it was probably made in the late '50s. :anyone:

This one resembles my old one (the grip & lever was straight, not curved), but mine had a plastic forestock, held on by a metal band similar to the Red Ryder pics. It also had a saddle ring IIRC.

It had a tilting rear sight that was either peep or vee (and loose as a goose). That thing drove me nuts when I was about to shoot and it would flop over to the peep sight. I finally removed it and filed a vee in the blade it was mounted on. :D

I had one, as my 3 brothers had them. Till our Dad caught us at war with 5-6 other boys down at the next 2 farms. We were up on a abandoned RR Track, had forts and all. He rode up on a horse, busted every BB Gun that was involved, even the other boys from other farms. He whipped our asses two times over that. Once in front of the other boys, and half way back to the farm about a mile away, he got mad again and whooped our asses again. No more BB Guns, all involved were between 4 and 8 years old. The others got it too when they told their dads and moms that our dad busted up their BB Guns!

Me and my band of fools never got caught!!
Was out shooting bottles in a ditch one day with a Crossman and had a rebound hit my brother I guess as about 20 years later he asks if I remember that ricochete. Vaguely LOL. Well he says "the dentist did an xray and found the bb !! Well my brother is a lot of things but one of them is not a liar so we got a good chuckle out of it . Just glad it did not turn into a "Christmas story" line!

Worked with a guy that had a similar story...

His BB gun had jammed when he was a kid, and he couldn't get the muzzle to twist by hand. So he got a grip on it with his teeth, and when it did twist open, it went off in his mouth.

He said he made about 3 laps around the house before his Dad could catch him to see why he was screaming. His folks didn't see any damage from the BB, so they assumed he had either swallowed it or spit it out.

Anywho... he came back to work from the dentist appointment, told us the story, and said you could clearly see on the x-ray where the BB was still in the roof of his mouth. :D
:drunk2:
