Went to our "work location" today and picked up a van to do a short assignment in Texas for the company to use to create a bid to that state for their road surveys. Being retired, we can be very flexible and generally are free to drop everything and go on assignment. After this one, the "boss" thinks our assignment to Alabama is about two weeks away.
Will be good to get out on the road again and see some new country.

Update: Made it to Austin. Left the hotel to go to Walmart and buy some TV dinners for suppers while we are here. Driving back to the hotel, I was astounded by the number of homeless "encampments" along a 4 mile stretch of street. Seems that Austin decided in 2019 to lift all bans on panhandling and "camping."
I haven't been back there since 2018, but it was bad back then. Texas is a beautiful place full of some awesome people. Then there is Austin
We are heading down there the second weekend of May for a convention. It was bad 5 or 6 years ago when I was there. I can't imagine how it is today. Thanks for the heads up. lol
Been out and about in the Austin area now for a few days. I can't say I care for the city, and I especially don't care for the convoluted traffic situations here. Thankfully though, our co-workers are familiar with the city and area, so I am managing to get by. I even have managed to take a few pictures in one of the areas that we have worked. So, without further ado, here be a few.

Still in Austin. We've worked for about 4 days or so and just found out yesterday that they consider our "data" unusable for some reason or another. Spent most of yesterday working on cameras and lasers to improve things. Going out today to start the whole process all over again on collecting data.
