General Q: Do you guys/gals prefer exposed spur hammers (traditional) on revolvers or internal hammers (spur less) if that's even a word?
DAO or Single/double action?

Reloading: Speed loaders, loose carry, or speed strips?

Holsters: IWB, OWB, Pocket/Jacket carry?

Safety- (Lawyer lock/Hillary hole): Prefer the internal lock or no lock? Reasons why?

For hip carry, I prefer a hammer spur. For pocket carry, hammerless.

DA/SA when possible. I like the option to go SA for a long, precise shot, if needed.

Speedloaders are ALWAYS faster than speed strips and speed strips are faster than loose rounds.

OWB and pocket carry for me. I never cared for IWB carry for anything.

Like Nancy Reagan said back in the 80s...Just Say No! to the lawyer lock.

As always, YMMV, but that's just this fat old man's preference.

Don't carry one in the pocket so I always prefer a hammer for the same reason stated above a good 357 magnum round is more than capable of precise shots beyond 50 yards with the right shooter.

If I'm feeling dressy I'll put a loop loader with shiny "dressed" bullets on the belt but always have a good speed loader on me.

I've got a nice IWB holster and a couple nice high quality leather OWB holsters with snap over the hammer for retention.

Only safety is my primary safety, no internal lock of any kind, that is just one more thing that can fail IMO.

And as an odd coinqidink I am actually sporting a nice 3inch model 13 today that I picked up from a shyster from our very own group

No lock, IMO.

From what I understand, some locks may eventually drift into locked mode from the impact of firing the weapon.

Nasty surprise if ya really need the weapon.

I agree with all of this. The only minor difference for me is that I like shrouded hammers for pocket carry. (Smith & Wesson 38, 438, 638, 49, 649, etc..)

I read up on that, it seemed to happen with heavier loads beginning at the 357 magnum level and up into the larger calibers.

I prefer with a hammer as I grew up with single actions and cock on the draw. I still do it that way with double action for follow up shots unless I am target shooting. I always have at least 2 speed loaders. No lock. Oh and OWB. IWB is not as good for us big ole boys.

I've never carried a revolver and doubt I will, so I can't speak to the speedloaders.

I definitely prefer SA/DA when possible, no lock, as well. Prefer hammer over hammerless - it just 'feels right' to pull back the hammer. I do NOT feel this way with semi-autos, though. I don't despise them, but almost or never use the hammer on a semi - does anyone? I mean, I guess some of them have a decocker so you can have a loaded chamber, and there might be an occasion you'd want to put it back in Condition One without racking the slide... ehhh... I dunno. I'm really more into striker-fired semis, but full hammer wheelies. Something about the feel of it, I dunno. Maybe I'm a hypocrite. As for holsters, it would only be for woods/hunting or rangetime, so I'd go OWB.

BTW.. I prefer a hammer and no ignorant a$$ lock on my S&W revolvers in general. I also prefer the P&R versions but we don't always get what we want.

I never wanted a pocket carry J-frame with an enclosed hammer, especially with an infernal lock, but I found such a great deal on one that I couldn't pass it up.

I made a kydex holster for what I call modified pocket carry and the 640 has become my all time favorite EDC handgun for comfort and convenience, after I removed the lock of course.
