I found it very simple to do. I just watched a video to make sure I did everything in the proper order and didn't miss anything putting it back together.
Do you guys/gals prefer exposed spur hammers (traditional) on revolvers or internal hammers (spur less) if that's even a word?
DAO or Single/double action?
I prefer exposed hammers personally, don't pocket carry, so spurless doesnt benefit me much. I would like to eventually get a spurless j frame for that though.
Reloading: Speed loaders, loose carry, or speed strips?
Moon clips are king, but if you don't want to pay for them to get cut or want to easily conceal extra ammo, they're a no go. I personally like speed strips on my non moon clip guns because I can carry a few extra rounds in an unobtrusive package that slips in and out of my pocket easy. If i need to reload while hunting (I shouldn't) I'm not in a hurry. If In a self defense scenario, I should have found cover to reload behind and dont have to AS worried about speed.
Holsters: IWB, OWB, Pocket/Jacket carry?
I prefer OWB, and do like cross draw for convenience and comfort, esp with large frames. Pocket carry would be useful when I get that spurless J frame one day.
Safety- (Lawyer lock/Hillary hole): Prefer the internal lock or no lock? Reasons why?

It's hard to know but a new thread asking if anyone is interested might give you a good idea.
I only need one in stainless steel for a J-frame.
Back in the 70's when I carried a revolver I was faster reloading from belt loops than the guys with semiautomatics. I moved away from the HKS speed loaders to safariland for two big reasons. The HKS didn't hold the rounds stable without wiggling and you had to turn the little knurled knob to release them. The Safariland held the rounds tight and you could just smack it and they would be forced into the chambers with the reloader falling away. The Safariland would also straddle the belt and be much slimmer to wear.
Lawyers will have a field day with someone that did this if something happens.

Safariland Speed Loaders all the way!
For SD I carry a 642, sometimes in a Blackhawk CQC holster, the rest of the time in the pocket of my cargo shorts.
I carry one speedloader in my pocket
Holster is an OWB, I hate IWB
I hate the lawyer lock and the only S&W's I have with the hole are ones they don't make without it. Internal lock is just unnecessary.
FYI I can install the "plug" for those interested.
