Neighbor's kid. I could watch that boy trying to start thing all damn day. He doesn't know about the kill switch I guess...Hell, I get tired of watchin' him.
Does he know it needs fuel?? He may be one of those that need the warning to not drink battery fluid.......

I have a Worx 10" corded pole saw that the chainsaw part will come off and can be used as a standalone chainsaw. Seriously it works very well. The only caveat is that the electric cord is a royal PITA. I'd definitely go battery powered Dewalt if it's an option that will work for you. Battery powered tools are a lot better than they used to be. I have a battery powered lawnmower and leaf blower and they are fantastic. Just slap a battery in and go to town.

FWIW, my (2) electric saws are corded. One is a pole (Remington, 10" I think?) that can also be used standalone, the other is a Harbor freight (12-14"?) cheapy. Both work great.

I also have a 24" Homelite (the old blue one), and a 14" Homelite. Both ran great when last started, I just can' t pull 'em anymore.

Gettin' old beats the alternative, but it ain't always a bed o' roses. :/

Have a Stihl 310 for quite a while now and I never found it hard to start. The trick to a Stihl is ONLY use the blue Stihl branded 2 cycle oil mixed right instead of the dollar store red cheapo crap. Saw mechanic told me that and he was right.
Had a Husky Rancher 455 before that and that was one tough sum buck. It would eat any kind of oil or gas or mix, it didn't care.
