I second this. I have coworker who has the 20v version and says it will do everything he needs it to do
I have the 20V version, and it's a beast. Used it to cut 40 or so cedars from 1" to 4" today. Still running strong when done.
It will cut as sharp as the blade is. If your putting out sawdust, it needs sharpened.

Have a Stihl 310 for quite a while now and I never found it hard to start. The trick to a Stihl is ONLY use the blue Stihl branded 2 cycle oil mixed right instead of the dollar store red cheapo crap. Saw mechanic told me that and he was right.
Had a Husky Rancher 455 before that and that was one tough sum buck. It would eat any kind of oil or gas or mix, it didn't care.
I have a husky 455 Rancher. Had to drill a hole in the housing to get a squirt of starting fluid toward the carb to get it to start even with a decompression feature. I'd jerk that rope until the sledge hammer option was about to happen.
Little squirt, and that 20" blade will rip through some big wood. Starts easy once warm.

I have a Harbor Freight electric pole saw and it cuts great except extended I can't hold it long due to a bad shoulder. And I also have a cheapie $39.00 electric chain saw from Lowes which cuts without fail through all sorts of wood. Both are easy on my ears too since they aren't gas powered. Hearing-once it's gone, it's gone.

Huh? Whattya say? Speak up man!

I have a Stihl that has the decompression button to start. Makes a big difference. It only about a year old but so far, only takes 2-3 pulls after its sat for few weeks.

I think what a lot of people run into nowadays is this ethanol in the fuel. It plays havoc on these small carbed engines. Always try to find non ethanol fuel to run in your weedeaters, lawnmower, chainsaws and such. The little carbs are not terribly complicated. Most have a diaphragm that needs replaced when starting issues start because the corn squeezens mess them up and any rubber parts. Usually underneath that you will see some brown crumbs of ethanol residue buildup. clean that out, new diaphragm and then its just a matter of setting the low idle and high speed screws properly. all kinds of online help. Stopped up breather filters causes air issues like an over choked engine so keep that reasonably clean. Then if a tiny leak or pinhole is in those cheap primer bulbs it with cause starting issues also. I would replace that anyways if I had starting probs. Properly tuned saw and correct mix and they should all work well.

I could tell you how to REALLY hot rod a saw from there that will throw shavings 25ft if it has the CCs that involves changing the sprocket, knockin the guts out of the muffler, leaning the air fuel out to get the RPMS rockin and filing the chain drags clean out of the way but I don't want you guys tearing up your saws. The oil is in the gas mix.
We used to take those old Sthil 44s and set them to sound like a jet aircraft to where you had better figure out where you want to put the tree pronto because its coming over.
I am WAY to old for all that now.
