If you want to get rid of qualified immunity how will you stop that side effect from happening?

My late father back in the day was a LEO and they had "false arrest insurance". Not sure today if LEOs have such.

What it would mean if they had to buy such is that we would have to budget more money to increase their pay. Not sure how many cities can increase their taxes to their citizens.

LEOs are different. They risk their lives daily to protect and serve. When LEOs in justified shootings get their fannies sued in civil court, something is wrong.

I said it then and I’ll say it now, GF was a low life dirty POS felon. I believe negative optics is all this is . I never believed the cops knee was crushing his neck. This is no different than what happened in Ferguson. Lots of people jumping to conclusions about what they think and not what they know. Out and out right lies. Race baiting and people trying to make money. In the end the officers careers are ruined over media hype, BS and lies.

Cities seem to afford paying for police misdeeds ok.

So do farmers, coal, miners, glass plant workers, nurses....

Yes, LEOs can make mistakes. But if they do not have some assurance that they won't get cornholed in prison ... who in the fresh hell do you think is going to do that job?

I must have missed the story where ANY of the above had someone trying to kill them because they dug potatoes or coal.

Your post questioned budget and affordability. Are you switching arguments now?

I must have missed where being a cop is even in the top ten of dangerous jobs.

Floyd died because of the drugs. Period. The first autopsy confirmed that Floyd did NOT die form asphyxiation. But of course Floyd’s family hired the scum bag leech Ben Crump who then hired a private autopsy and what do you know, this one said Floyd died by asphyxiation. It’s called excited delirium. That is what Floyd was going through because of the drugs. Floyd had no bruising on his neck but did have it on his shoulder. Which is consistent with officer Chauvin having his knee on Floyd’s shoulder. It was not on his neck. Chauvin was operating within the departments standards. He will not get a fair trial and the poor guy will probably have the rest of his life ruined. I don’t know why anyone would want to be a cop today. God bless y’all that are.

Not switching. They are related.

Comparing dangerous jobs is rather inane. It’s about as silly as saying would you rather get shot with a 44 caliber bullet or a 32 caliber bullet? A lot of jobs are dangerous and have risk.

Lastly, I don't think what you have "missed" is your problem. Was some cop mean to you and hurt your feelings?

Ah yes, the "top ten" according to CNBC.COM...

Oddly, your posting history doesn't really portray you as a fan of MSM. :D
:drunk2:

You can find similar lists elsewhere. Cops never make the top, although if you listen to the rhetoric they're literally dodging bullets every day.
