What does it cost these days to reload 9mm with say 115gf FMJ or 124gr FMJ?

I happen to have some brass and I don't reload, but I'm curious as to whether or not I should bother someone I know to use their setup to reload, assuming a guy can get components.

Thanks.

So many variables. Realistically 30-32c a round based on 2000-4000 rounds.

Bullet/powder selection, quantity and how long you are willing to wait to acquire them.

I just bought another case of bullet. 3750 124g to a case, come out to ~10c each.

Most powders I still buy at $18-25 per pound, but I would calculate it at $30. So about 1.7-2.0c a round.

So 12c a round plus expendables like case lube and cleaning. So about 13c PLUS primers.

Primers is the big issue. Right now you are looking at 7-15c each.

And you need to add the price of the brass. You should be able to sell the brass for 3-4c each. So you need to figure that in the price.

Where you come out in the powder can make you have to buy a partial pound over what you need. If you are only talking loading 1000 rounds, bullet cost will go up considerably.

I was loading 124jhp (fmj would be the same price) for about 16.7c a round based on:
9.6c bullet
3c primer
1.1c powder
2c brass
1c expendables.
This is a higher quality ammo that what I could buy without going to a self defense type round. I’m actually still loading them at this price, but I can’t replace the primers and brass for that price anymore. Bullets and powder have not increased that much from my supply chains.

You need to update yourself on real world prices.
Looking for supplies locally might shock you.
Powder 40 -50 bucks a pound at every shop if they even have any.
Primers 15-20 bucks per 100 but only with purchase of bullets.
Them 10 cent bullets are a quarter or more unless you order by the case.
So figure per 1000
Powder. 50
Primers 200
Bullets jacketed 250
Brass?
= 450 per 1k or 22.50 a box for jacketed

Your typical reloader is out of touch because they stockpiled when cheap.
Kind of like my stockpiling 22lr at 9 dollars a brick and it selling on gb for 200 a brick now.

So what I'm hearing makes me think that if I don't really need 9mm ammo right now it's not worth it.???

Will ammo prices come down in the next few years???

Will there ever be a better time than now going forward to add to my stash???

Things that make you go "Hmmm...". [emoji16]

Thanks everyone for the info!

Why would you pay $250 for 1000 jacketed bullets when you can buy a case of 4000 for $350 (3750 124g for $360). RMR has a slightly less quality one you can back order at $89-$91 per 1000. Still a very good bullet.

That’s why I don’t normally buy at H&H, Ding Dong’s, or Jerry’s.

I sure don’t normally buy primers by the 100.

I’ve bought primers in the last month for $59 per K and a fair amount of powder for $25-$27 per # and some under 20#.

There is 7000 grains to a # of powder. That’s about 1650 rounds per # with most powders and loads being in the 4.0-4.2g area.

I’m not saying it easy and but there are still supplies out there. Timing is an issue. And it’s worse in Tulsa, I know.

This was purchased today.

This is available right now. Probably shipping in 45-60 days.

I get it, it’s not easy. But it’s not as bad as $450 per K right now.

A little heads up on those $59 per K primers would be nice! HAHAHA!

I do appreciate the message this morning on the MG's. If I hadn't been driving, I would've tried to get an order in through my phone. Alas, a few minutes later, they were but a memory.

Sometimes you just have to pull over and make it happen! :buttkick:
