I am a big guy also. I use Galco shoulder holster’s and a Hawaiian shirt in the summertime. I’ve always liked Hawaiian shirts and they do the job well. You don’t have to worry about printing. Because I’m big my pants always seem to be falling down and I have to use suspenders to keep them up lol. I’ve tried in the waist holster’s and they work well but sometimes aren’t comfortable. I’ve never tried wearing a holster outside on my belt

For reference I carry my Beretta 92 or my G23 in the shoulder holsters. I also have a small pancake holster for a Ruger SP 101. As much as I try liking it wheel guns just aren’t my thing but it is small and easy to carry.

Yep not a fan of IWB holsters either and I have the same problem with pants. I have a beer gut even though I was never a big beer drinker. That means my pants ride low. I will probably try another pancake as I have always been comfortable with them but may look into a shoulder rig for certain times if for no other reason than it will help keep my pants up. :P

OK got the 1911 and feel better already. Now for a holster. I still prefer a pancake because of past life experiences. I will need to save up for it but I can not decide between the DeSantis

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2375143440?pid=359698

or the Bianchi 7 Shadow 2

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1336163122

I have a Bianchi 7 for my Ruger P89 and like it, but the DeSantis seems to have more features.

Later on when I get rich I will add another mag and maybe some stag horn grips. :P :P :P

I have several Ronin Leather Holsters LLC for my Ronin commander. Fantastic workmanship, quality and price. Hard for me to shop anywhere else.

I will look but probably to rich for my blood.

Just for the fun of it I have been looking at grips (Way down the line of things I need) some pretty cool ones out there. I will probably still try to find a pair of used stag horn but these are still cool. Wood ones are Rosewood.

I have kydex IWB for my full size 1911 and another for my compact, and they’re both comfortable enough to wear all day.

I carry the full size at 4/5 o’clock, and I generally appendix carry the compact.

OK I just spent a few minutes researching used stag horn grips and have decided that when the time comes, fake stag horn looks pretty good. Holy crap! The real ones have gone up in price! Last time I bought a pair was about 35 years ago. I bought them for $20. I expected maybe $50, not $130 up.

IWB has not been comfortable to me for many years. Maybe if I can keep losing that will change, but the one time I really needed a gun. IWB would have been a problem. Pancake barely worked.

Guess I would be considered a "small guy", 5' 5", 150-lbs. Carry a Dan Wesson Valor Commander in a Vedder Light Tuck, appendix. No issues.
