I thought I read that they wrapped up filming a couple or three months ago. Dunno but I haven't been able to find a date either. I'm really jonesing to see it and hoping it's this month and not August.

I didn't read this entire thread but I have a question.

I watched the first episode or so a few weeks back because it was free on Prime. I wasn't really that interested in watching any more of it, especially if I had to pay. Does it get better?

I would say if the first episode didn't hook you then you might not like the show, unless what you like about a show is growing with the characters.

Well I'm definitely not paying anywhere near that to watch a TV show. I mighy try watching more of the series if at some point I get it for free.

I don't mind "growing with the characters", as you put it. I've seen that happen with other series that I've watched.

I think the reason it wasn't very appealing to me is that it reminded me of the night time soap opera shows of the past about rich people's problems like "Dallas" and "Knot's Landing".

I have COX and with it comes Peacock where they have Yellowstone so it comes with my cable package. Entertaining show having lived in MT and marrying a MT girl.

As to the comments on filming, I understand they wrapped up shooting in November for season 4.

Without spoiling the show for you, I'd say its entire premise is about "how should wealth be spent" so that sounds like the type of thing you didn't care for. Thinking back to the pilot episode, you saw how there was a clash between out-of-state land developers, the Duttons who have owned that land for generations, and then a rising wealthy native tribe. All 3 of them are trying to figure out what to do with their wealth.
