At the east end of the Grand Canyon's southern rim area is the first viewing site of many along the way. This one is called the Desert View Watch Tower.

And, a view from that area.

Someone else liked the area as well.

A lady near me when I was taking the picture of the bride and groom was a part of the wedding ceremony and asked a number of us to share the photos we had taken to give to the newly married couple. She gave several of us her e-mail address to send them to, and I think I might have had the longest reach with a lens than the others had. So, I hope the couple liked what they got from us.

This is the Battery Point lighthouse in Crescent City, CA. I didn't know it at the time, but it is both a working lighthouse and a museum. If I had known it was also a museum, I'd have made it a point to go visit it in person instead of just taking a picture from afar.

My wife's cousin and I went to Woodward yesterday and met my buddy from Follett, TX at Butch's for some range time. Got the Marlin 9mm sighted in and fired my first rounds through my S&W 28 and Ruger SBH 44 mag. Always a good time, especially after some lunch at Waggs.

Its real hard not to love mountain streams!

No doubt about that. For decades, when we could only take a week of vacation, we would go to Purgatoire River Campground, which is west and a bit north of Trinidad, CO. We liked camping where we were away from the main highways, where there was water running, and where there were lots of trees. The Purgatoire River ran right along the north side of the campground.

My youngest son and I took some rubber boots and walked along and in the river for a ways just to get some pictures of the "stream/river."

Nothing like the stream I posted yesterday, and this one is in Idaho at a state park called Bruneau Dunes State Park. It is located south of Mountain Home, ID. The Bruneau Dunes is considered a "single dune" with a crater within it and is 470 feet high. Locals go out there and "sandboard" down from the top.
